Why Foundayo (Orforglipron)?
Orforglipron is a different active ingredient from semaglutide and tirzepatide. It acts on the same GLP-1 receptor, which plays a role in appetite and blood sugar control.
Your clinician starts at a low dose and increases it step by step, checking your response and any side effects along the way.
Important safety information
Semaglutide and tirzepatide medicines carry a boxed warning about thyroid C-cell tumors seen in animal studies. They should not be used by people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2.
- Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain and decreased appetite. They are usually most noticeable while the dose is being increased.
- Review the full prescribing information with your clinician, because safety details differ between GLP-1 medicines.
- Serious but less common risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, kidney injury from dehydration, and severe allergic reactions. Seek medical help right away for severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting or signs of an allergic reaction.
- Tell your clinician about every medicine you take, especially insulin or sulfonylureas, because blood sugar can drop too low.
- Tell your clinician if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy. Treatment plans differ in these situations.
This is a summary only. Ask your clinician for the full prescribing information and report any side effects to them.
