Two hormone pathways, one weekly injection

How it works in 3 simple steps

  1. 1

    Tell us about your health

Complete an online health questionnaire and meet with a clinician who is licensed where you live.

  2. 2

    A clinician decides

Your clinician reviews your history and decides whether a prescription is appropriate. Choosing a product online is not a prescription.

  3. 3

    Begin care if prescribed

If treatment is prescribed, a licensed pharmacy dispenses it, and your clinician follows your progress with regular check-ins.

Why Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide activates two gut hormone receptors, GIP and GLP-1. Together they help reduce appetite, slow stomach emptying and improve how the body handles blood sugar.

Zepbound® is the tirzepatide brand labeled for chronic weight management and for obstructive sleep apnea in some adults with obesity. Mounjaro® is labeled for type 2 diabetes. Each has its own labeling and dosing.

Important safety information

Boxed warning

Semaglutide and tirzepatide medicines carry a boxed warning about thyroid C-cell tumors seen in animal studies. They should not be used by people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2.

  • Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain and decreased appetite. They are usually most noticeable while the dose is being increased.
  • Serious but less common risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, kidney injury from dehydration, and severe allergic reactions. Seek medical help right away for severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting or signs of an allergic reaction.
  • Tell your clinician about every medicine you take, especially insulin or sulfonylureas, because blood sugar can drop too low.
  • Tell your clinician if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy. Treatment plans differ in these situations.

This is a summary only. Ask your clinician for the full prescribing information and report any side effects to them.

Questions about Tirzepatide

Is tirzepatide the same as Zepbound?

Zepbound contains tirzepatide. This page describes the ingredient, while the Zepbound page covers the branded product and its labeled uses.

How often is it injected?

Once a week, starting with a low dose that your clinician raises gradually to help your body adjust.

Do I need a prescription?

Yes. This is a prescription medicine. A licensed clinician must evaluate you and decide whether it is appropriate before anything can be prescribed.

Will I definitely be prescribed it?

No. Selecting a product on this site does not guarantee a prescription. The decision rests with your clinician after reviewing your health history.

Can I take it with other medical conditions?

Your clinician reviews your history, current medicines and any conditions to decide whether it is safe for you. Always share complete information.

What if I am pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy?

Tell your clinician before starting. These medicines are not recommended during pregnancy, and your clinician will advise on timing if you plan to conceive.
